TFC at CORA Meet Recap

The score breakdown by division was as follows:

For the third week in a row, Harper Grace Johnson kicked off the meet with a new team record, once again improving her league-leading time in the Girls 11-12 100 Meter Freestyle. Her blistering 1:03.60 takes down the previous mark of 1:04.76, set in 2007 by Lindsey Winston, and she now holds both the yards and meters team records for the 11-12 Girls division. Nate Doran continued his strong season with another impressive night, highlighted by a 32.09 in the 50 Backstroke to slip under current teammate Paolo Tique’s 2023 time of 32.44. Last but certainly not least, Brogan VanLesser lowered his own record in the Boys 15-18 50 Meter Freestyle, clocking a speedy 25.41 to clip his previous best of 25.59.

Madeline Fogg and Caecelia Wierling qualified for the Championship meet. These two 9-10 Girls bring our total to 29 swimmers, 8 more than last year! Who wants to join them next week?

Quadruple winners were: Andrew Austin, Rebecca Crady, Nate Doran, Harper Grace Johnson, Gavin Kelly, Owen Merritt, Aiden Montgomery, Carter Rettig, Avery Roberts, and Cecilia Thorne.

Triple winners were: John Grayson Ballou, Saffie Jordan, Maren Minor, Diego Salinas, Isla Smith, Layne Smith, Paolo Tique, Brogan VanLesser, Caecelia Wierling, and Aubrey Wittwer.

Congratulations to all of our Stingray swimmers on a dominant victory tonight! This meet was so much fun, and I loved seeing how excited you all were for each other’s swims. It’s hard to believe we only have one meet left this season—and it’s our most important yet! We’ll be facing Pebble Creek, the only team to beat us so far, in what’s shaping up to be a highly competitive rematch. The winner will finish the season 5-1 and claim the division title. Let’s carry this amazing momentum into next week and finish off the season on top!
