Len Everett Awards

Len Everett Sportsmanship Award

The Len Everett Sportsmanship Award was established in 1984 by the Greater Richmond Aquatic League (GRAL) to honor the memory of a man who was instrumental in the founding and structuring of the League. Leonard Everett, from Hungary Creek Recreation Association, stood for the highest ideals of fair competition and good sportsmanship. A plaque is awarded every year to one club in each division whose swimmers, coaches, and parents have best exhibited these qualities. CORA has won the Len Everett Sportsmanship Award nineteen times:

1987, 1989, 1990, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2011, 2017, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025

Len Everett Excellence in Coaching Award

The Len Everett Excellence in Coaching Award was established in 2006. It is designed to recognize the effort of GRAL's most outstanding coaches. Its purpose is to inspire coaches to strive for excellence in the job they do at practices, meets, and all activities in which he or she is involved. Because the role and tasks of coaching a team rarely fall upon the shoulders of a single individual, this award is given to the coaching staff that best exemplifies the missions and high standards that GRAL seeks to achieve. CORA won this award for the first time in 2023.
