Kara Green Award
Kara Green Sportsmanship Award
This award is given to a swimmer who exemplifies the qualities of the former CORA swimmer for which this award was named. Kara Green received the sportsmanship award more times than any other swimmer at CORA during her career in the 80s. She was blind, and she led the team with her amazing philosophy which was to “be the best you can be and others will follow.” Kara contributed to the team in ways that transcended winning events, through her immense support to her teammates daily. It wasn’t an individual act of kindness, but rather a deep care for the community around her. Kara was the definition of a good teammate to all, and her legacy lives on in our team culture today.
